This umbrella fully covers a 6-7 foot surface when installed. The extra foot of thatch is fringe overhang for aesthetic purposes. Note that your structure's pitch may affect the fit of the umbrella cover. The umbrella may be trimmed to fit your aesthetic of overhang as long as it is trimmed around the knots. The golden tan color compliments outdoor décor of all types and emphasizes a place of peace and tranquility.
All Mexican thatch products are handwoven and made from natural materials. Many customers ask, how long will my Mexican palm thatch last? The answer is that it really depends on a number of factors, the main one being climate. In dry, moderate climates Mexican palm thatch can last approximately 3-5 years. In harsher climates that experience heavy rains, high humidity and drastic changes in climate it will be significantly shorter (approximately 1-2 years). Due to this and other external factors we cannot guarantee the life of these products.

Palm thatch may have some residues that you may want to rinse off to avoid staining floors or other areas that are affected by runoff. Rinse your thatch with a garden hose and allow to dry before installing your roof.
