At Forever Bamboo, our Lauhala matting comes in rolls of 3 feet wide by 50 feet long. Lauhala matting is made from the leaves of the Hala tree and is carefully hand-woven into 1 inch diameter square pattern. The matting is a luscious shade of tan and beiges that will accent any space.

The Hala tree is a small tree that is fast growing and abundant in the Polynesian area. The leaves are harvested from the Hala tree leaves. Weaving is a major part of the Hawaiian culture and brought great wealth and prosperity. The Pacific Island people would utilize these weavings for various uses such as hats, purses, mats, floor covers, and wall coverings. This master weaving skill has not changed over the years and we bring this high quality matting to you.

Lauhala matting is used for residential and commercial application for wall covering and wainscoting. All our matting is flexible and pliable and can be cut or trimmed without the risk of unraveling. We recommend taping the back of the matting first then cutting it with a pair of scissors. Application is easy; the matting can either be glued or stapled to any surface.
